SHANKY MAKES STAGE DEBUT AS EMEM OBONG AS CARNIVAL CALABAR STARTS OFF.

It is indeed the season of sweetness as Calabar International Artiste Shanky who rebranded with the pseudonym Emem Obong makes his first stage debut in Calabar, at the 1st Calabar Carnival Event, a "Breakfast Meeting" with His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State Prince Bassey Otu, packaged by the Calabar Carnival Commission and Event Management Department.

The event witnessed the birth of the upward and forward Public Private Partnership (PPP), taking a more interesting and prospective façade that will ensure that the Calabar Carnival and Festivals 2023 witnesses a paradigm shift from the norm, that will yield an economic boom for all investors in the Calabar Carnival and Festivals.

The highlights of the event witnessed seasoned speeches from the Deputy Governor Mr. Peter Odey, the former Minister of Tourism Mr. Edem Duke, the Carnival Commission Chairman Mr. Gabe Onah, the Commission's Executive Secretary Rev. Austin Cobham, Special Adviser on Events to the Governor Hon. Effiong Ekpenyong and a host of other key players.


The event was super packed with glaring intelligence on the domestication of Calabar Carnival and Festivals, which when actualized, will make the Carnival become internally-self-sustained with maximized output in profit in the best interest of the State and her investors as denoted by the Carnival Calabar Chairman Mr. Gabe Onah.



The event further witnessed Emem Obong (Shanky) as he captivated the audience with a stunning performance of an unreleased Carnival rhythm titled "Carnival Forever (Season of Sweetness)" a self produced record that will trend through out the Calabar Carnival & Festivals 2023.




This year's Carnival is already revealed to be the best in a long time as promising features are being enrolled from the offices of the Carnival Commission and Event Management Department.

This is a clarion call to all and sundry; lovers of fun, peace and wealth creation to come join the elation herein conjured in our season of sweetness, as the Carnival Calabar & Festivals 2023 will be one marked as the signature Carnival in the series of Carnivals that took Cross River State to a height beyond compare.

The Calabar Carnival is witnessing fresh innovations under the Administration of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Cross River State Sen. Prince Basset Otu. His deliberate appointment of Hon. Effiong Ekpenyong (JP) as Special Adviser on Events is indeed yielding landmark dividends already. Hon. Effiong Ekpenyong (JP) aka Double E, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Calabar Carnival & Festival Committee and his entire team has revamped the Calabar Carnival & Festival with landmark innovations; one of such innovations is the Dry Run Concert; a full blown concert after the Carnival Calabar Dry Run.
